Aloha Farewell........

At the end of September we will be moving back to the mainland. We are feeling really good about the move, although it will be hard to leave Hawaii. Tenzin was born in this house, and has lived here his whole life! We are really feeling the need to be closer to family now more than ever. We are considering Vashon Island in Washington. It's a 15 minute ferry ride to Seattle, and when you're there you feel like you're in the country. "So close, yet so far away" is their slogan. We are going on intuition rather than a job offer, which some people may find unsettling. I guess we are used to flying by the seat of our pants. I have to say that there may be something to my intuition though, shortly after we decided that we wanted to move, I spoke to some people I knew from Washington and told them my plan to start a waldorf preschool on Vashon, and they said that there was a woman that was doing a waldorf type program, but just retired! So there is a demand. We picked Vashon Island for the quality of life and somewhat halfway point between our families. We also like that we can easily access Seattle, yet we don't have to live in it. We do realise that we must be crazy for leaving Hawaii for the soon to be winter on the mainland....
Tenzin is growing SO much, he will be 17 months in a few days!!! He is saying many words now, and is always imitating us. He is having a great time with the twins. Strangely enough, they are also moving to Seattle at the end of the month!!!!! When they told me I was relieved that I didn't have to tell them I was leaving!!! This works out great for everyone involved, We are going to share a shipping container with them, we'll have a garage sale together, and Tenzin will still be able to see his girlfriends!!!!!! It's just too coincidental.............
We did end up getting the job in the south pacific, but I just don't feel like it's the right thing to do right now. We are keeping it as our back up plan if somehow things don't pan out otherwise. We were so excited about it, but we are feeling like family is more important than money.... or sun...... : )
So, now I have 24 days to pack out lives up... There may not be many updates for a while.
Sending heaps of love to everyone,
See you on the flip side.

Sad News

Tai has gone to California to help his family out since their house burned down... :(
It is so devastating. I wish there was more we could do, but I think Tai can help them out quite a bit in two weeks. He said they have put up sheds and are salvaging some things now.
I wish Tenzin and I could go too, but I know we would take more energy than provide help.
I'm glad that Barbara and Richard came to Hawaii for vacation, they have a lot of hard work ahead of them. Tenzin misses Pappa, and asks for him a a lot. He sees pictures of him on our computer slide show and gets so excited, "PAPPA!!!" Tenzin is being really good for me though, and seems to be understanding of the situation. Madeline and Genevieve are doing great now, and have had a break through! They play happily, and are getting pretty comfortable here. Tenzin loves playing with them, and they all get along better than I could have hoped. Tenzin is also doing much better if one of them is distressed. When I used to take care of Xavier, he would cry if Xavier cried, but now he just goes on playing. It's much easier now to take care of other little ones. Tenzin is really sweet to them and takes them their blankies, sippy cups and tries to feed them snacks. It's pretty cute! I've got some great pictures that I will put up as soon as I have the energy...
Katie left for Canada today, she'll be there for a few months. We had a little thing for her on the beach for her tonight. Tenzin found some briquettes in the sand and instantly had black hands and black streaks on his face...
Well, I'm off to finish cleaning up the house. I need to be a little more efficient with my time since I can't ask Tai to watch Tenzin while I shower or do the laundry...
We're doing pretty well- but we miss you Tai!
Goodnight Noon!

Gramy Bee and Grandpa Richard

Gramy Bee and Grandpa Richard just came to Hawaii for a visit. Tenzin warmed up to them right away and was good at buttering them up for taking him outside to play ball. He loved playing drums with Grandpa Richard, and would go take them books to read to him in the morning. They babysat so we could go on a date, and took Tenzin to the beach while I baked a carrot cake for Gramy's birthday. It sure was nice having grandparents around!
I am feeling like it would be really nice to live closer to family. Tenzin loves having his grandparents around. I really wish he could see all of his grandparents more often.....
Still working on the master plan...

Happy Tenzin!

10 words

Tenzin can now say 10 words:
Ball
Pappa
Mamma (or Mah)
Shoes
Dog
Yah (he says this with a sigh when he agrees)
Baby
Pee Pee
Fish
? there's another one.... It's almost 1am.....

Sounds for:
Gecko
Bird
Car

We had an interview today for a job taking care of 17 mo old twin girls, Tenzin is pretty happy about the possibility of having two girls his age to play with! They were born 2 mo. premature, so they should have been born in April too. Tenzin is a giant compared with them, but he was an 11 lb. baby, and they were only 3 lbs each. He was almost 4 times as big!!!! Can you imagine?
They are very sweet, it would be a great match for both of us since they live close, and the mum needs around 16 hrs a week since she works from home. I hope we didn't loose any points when Tenzin threw his maracca and hit the lady between the eyes.... It was pretty bad... I saw it in slow motion. thankfully he kissed her afterwards, whew.
