Quarter of a century....... Plus one

I'm 26 today. It feels good, not like 25 which was similar to being kicked in the shin with a roller skate stopper. 26 is different. My 25th year was wonderful, it was just hard turning 25 for some reason. Today Mick took Tenzin to the park so that Tai and I could go out for dinner. It was weird being able to give someone my undivided attention. It was nice. I missed Tenzin after an hour and we hurried back to get him. The hour was great though!

My friend sent me this poem for my birthday.
For the love a tree, she went out on a limb.
For the love of the sea, she rocked the boat.
For the love of the earth, she dug deeper.
For the love of community, she mended the fence.
for the love of the stars, she let her light shine.
For the love of spirit, she nurtured her soul.
For the love of the Goddess, she drew down the moon.
for the love of nature, she made compost.
For the love of a good meal, she gave thanks.
For the love of family, she reconciled differences.
For the love of creativity, she entertained new possibilities.
for the love of her enemies, she suspended judgment.
for the love of herself she acknowledged her worth.
And the world was richer for her.

Home again

We're HOME!! (and we just got our computer back...) Christmas in Canada was SO fantastic! We had lots of time to visit with family and friends. Tenzin had a ball in the snow, and even stayed up to ring in his first new year! We are very happy to be home however. Every time I return to Hawaii I appreciate it even more.
Tenzin has his first cold :( he's pretty congested and has a little cough. Poor little guy. Soon the baby we have been taking care of (Xavier) will be coming to our house. It will be nice not to have to pack Tenzin in the car everyday. Tenzin is now standing for seconds at a time. If he *thinks* he's holding onto something stable, like a spoon in mid air, he has more confidence and stands longer.
We just got his high chair in the mail, so feeding himself won't require the entire household to take a shower afterwards! Tai is assembling it now :) Before we had Tenzin he was sick of assembling things, but now I think he's back to the point of finding it somehow fofilling. The high chair is made in Sweden and it's really beautiful- should be easy to put together.
We have been going to the beach often, and Tenzin is still happy eating sand, and trying to fit pieces of coral into his mouth...
love to you all,
Keri*

Happy New Year!

Tenzin is nine months old now. only 3 months until he turns one!!! He is walking while pushing a box, and stands for second, before lowering himself gracefully.
We had a wonderful Christmas with our Canadian family, and will be in Canada one more week before we return to our nice warm home :)
Tenzin decided that it was his first New Year, he was going to stay up for it. He NEVER stays up that late!! He even had a cup and did a cheers with everyone else. He was such a little man!
He has been waking a LOT at night, 3-4 times before midnight.... ;/ sleepy me....
It's now very late, but I find this is really the only time I have left for myself, and we sleep in every morning.
Guess I better go snuggle in.
